Partly aged in barrel, this wine is made from the Primitivo grape, a variety with a long history dating back to the 17th century. It has a deep purple red colour and a full rich nose of jammy dark fruits. On the palate it is rich and lush with ripe fruit and hints of spice but with a pleasant balance of good acidity and soft tannin. The wine has a long warm finish and would be particularly good with red meats, game, and tomato-based dishes.
